About This Spot

Stepping into Michael's Restaurant feels like discovering a laid-back corner of Americana tucked right in the heart of Panamá City. There’s an easygoing rhythm here—a place where mornings are unhurried, conversations flow freely, and the hum of friendly chatter blends with the clink of coffee cups. The air carries a subtle tropical warmth, complemented by quirky touches like vibrant décor and playful oversized plush animals resting beside the tables, inviting visitors to leave behind any rush and settle into a genuine local experience.

Michael’s strikes a rare balance between casual comfort and lively welcome. It’s the kind of spot where the owner’s warm presence is part of the charm, making each visit feel like being invited to a neighbor’s kitchen rather than just another restaurant. Families, locals, and travelers mingle here with ease, drawn to the atmosphere that’s both kid-friendly and inclusive—perfect for lingering over a weekend brunch or catching up with friends over a relaxed breakfast.

The menu reflects this spirit with hearty, familiar fare served in generous portions, grounded in classic American breakfast traditions but with enough playful twists to keep things interesting. Whether it’s the rich aroma of freshly brewed Americano coffee or the comforting taste of creamy huevos rancheros, every dish feels thoughtfully prepared to nourish both body and mood. The blend of tropical surroundings with distinctly American flavors creates a unique culinary rhythm that resonates well with locals and visitors alike.

Arrival here means stepping into a space where simplicity and sincerity take center stage. It’s not just about filling a table but about sharing moments—be it a quiet morning latte, the joyful clatter of a bustling brunch, or a friendly nod from Michael himself. For those who appreciate a relaxed vibe seasoned with personal touches, Michael’s is less a restaurant and more a discovery of comfort in an unexpected place.

The food was delicious! We were greeted by Michael himself, which is always a nice treat to meet the owner. This is such an American location, I began referring to it as the embassy: The menu items are barely disguised as local classics, very American entrees, and giant portions. Kind of a quirky vibe with the tropical decorations, and giant stuffed animals at tables. Definitely kid-friendly.

Food was great and alot, got seated quickly and food arrived without much of a wait. Clean and friendly staff. English menu available. Arrive early if you dont want to wait to be seated. Would definitely go again and recommend.

I have been to Michael’s a few times prior, I’m not a regular but I always tend to order the same(classic chicken and waffles is soo good here), albeit, yesterday I was feeling a little cheeky so I ordered something new, something different, ended up ordering these rather big meaty balls with cheese… and I must say that Michael’s big meaty balls are to die for, I cannot get enough of them, the crunchy plantain exterior, the juicy meaty inside and the cheese helping it all stick together, Im def going to be a regular now.

A few things I really liked about eating at Michael’s Panama, the 24-hour brunch spot, were the hospitality and the food. The owner himself was very interactive and welcoming—I even got a chance to meet him, which made the experience more personal. The food was amazing! I had an omelette and the Leche French Toast and both were absolutely delicious. The environment is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal. One thing I wasn’t too thrilled about was the teddy bears sitting at the tables. I understand it’s part of the brand and what makes the place stand out, but personally, it’s not something I cared for. Still, the overall experience, the food, and the hospitality made it worth the visit.

Michael’s is truly a gem in Panama City! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel so welcome — everyone was friendly, patient, and most of them spoke English, which is a plus since it’s a tourist city. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Western omelet, which came with a slice of sourdough bread that was incredibly good. My husband went big with eggs, bacon, French toast, and a pancake, and he loved every bite. The bacon deserves its own moment — perfectly cooked, easily some of the best we’ve ever had. (I may have stolen a piece or two ). Our children ordered pancakes, French toast, and mac n’ cheese. Shockingly, every single one of them loved their food — which rarely happens. The mac n’ cheese was so good they wanted to order another to take with us, but we weren’t heading back to the hotel yet. The coffees were next-level. I got the tiramisu latte, which I finished way too fast because it was that good, and I was very tempted to order another. My husband got the caramel latte and enjoyed his just as much. Overall, Michael’s delivered fantastic food, great coffee, and warm service. We’ll definitely be back when we return to Panama.

This restaurant is a perfect spot for a Fresh & Tasty Breakfast. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with just the right balance of lively and relaxed. The menu had plenty of options from light and healthy choices. Friendly service and kid friendly also. Definitely one of the best breakfast place in Panama.

I was greeted my Michael himself. I enjoyed my meal which was the Avo toast. Only ine egg was poached while the other was cooked a lil too long. My friends eggs were on the cold side but it was fixed immediately. The service was great from everyone and the ambiance was amazing for photos
